Kanis Road Bridge Replacement - Little Rock, AR

When the City of Little Rock determined that the Kanis and Walnut Grove Road intersection lacked sufficient sight distance as well as a single horizontal curve adequate for the posted speed limit, they hired Crafton Tull to provide the design services. The existing bridge and box culvert were removed and replaced by a single span, prefabricated bridge that realigned approximately 1000' of Kanis Road with Walnut Grove Road. Due to the rural setting and relatively high traffic volume, the construction of a temporary bypass over Fletcher Creek allowed for continuous traffic flow throughout the project. Crafton Tull selected a prefabricated bridge as part of the design both to reduce the construction schedule and add aesthetic value.
